Nelson Academy named in top 2% of schools in England
Nelson Academy has been named in the top 2% of schools in England in terms of the progress pupils make between Key Stage 1 and the end of Key Stage 2.
The school has progress scores of 3.5, 3.8 and 4 in English reading, writing and mathematics respectively.
Sarah Wilson, Principal of Nelson Academy, received the news in a personal letter from Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP, Minister of State for School Standards.
The letter said: “I would like to congratulate you, your staff and your pupils on the very high level of progress that pupils in your school have made in their ready, writing and mathematics.
“Thank you for your hard work and professionalism in producing such high standards and congratulations to you and your staff for all you have achieved.”
