Dr. Duncan Ramsey CEO

During 17 years as a primary headteacher Duncan led two very different schools to outstanding Ofsted judgements. Leading an average-sized village primary and a larger school in London have helped him develop the skills and experience needed to provide high quality support to schools within the Trust. He is a qualified lead inspector and received his Doctorate in 2003 for developing training programmes to support excellent performance in experienced teachers. Duncan joined the Trust in 2014 as Director of Education and became CEO in February 2017.

Alan Evans Company Secretary, Director of Finance and Operations/Deputy CEO

Alan is a chartered accountant with experience of working across the public and private sectors before joining King’s Lynn Academy as their finance director. He was previously the director of resources and deputy chief executive for local authority, overseeing an annual revenue budget in excess of £250,000,000.

Rosy Lord Head of Human Resources

Rosy is a fully qualified HR specialist and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. She has been involved in human resources for over 20 years in education and has experience of almost every aspect of HR including payroll and pensions management. Her previous role was as HR Manager at the College of West Anglia.

Rachael Judd Director of Primary Education

Rachael Judd has a degree in law and is a qualified teacher. Rachael has worked as an advanced skills teacher in early years. She was headteacher of a large urban infant school in Norwich and has been a national leader of education. She has worked as a local authority senior advisor for intervention and inspection and is now Director of Primary Education for the Thetford Hub of the Eastern Multi Academy Trust. She also inspects for Ofsted.

Paul Shanks Director of Primary Education

During 13 years as a head teacher Paul has led two schools to good Ofsted outcomes, one of which was the school’s first ever good judgement. Paul has experience of Executive Headship and through his role as Deputy Senior School Improvement Adviser and Data Lead, East of England for National Strategies, he has developed skills and experience to provide core training and support to the Trust schools.

Gill Thomas Director of Quality Assurance

As an experienced headteacher, Gill has led two large secondary schools to good Ofsted outcomes. She has also been an executive headteacher. Gill has previous experience as an Ofsted inspector. She has worked with primary schools in a Trust, where she helped one large urban primary school to a good Ofsted outcome from requires improvement. Gill has developed the skills and attributes over a long and successful career so that she can provide high quality support to schools within the Trust.

Louise Soden Director of Education

Louise started her career teaching and managing English in a variety of secondary schools, including those in inner cities. She became an advisory teacher and subsequently a lecturer at Sussex University. Louise was a deputy headteacher for six years, before becoming a member of a small team establishing the advisory service of a new unitary authority, moving to become an assistant director in another newly established authority.

Louise was head of a school in Richmond upon Thames before joining Her Majesty’s Inspectorate (HMI) in 2002. Following this, Louise joined the Department for Education (DfE) with responsibility for implementing a key government policy to establish school improvement partners (SIPs) in all schools.

In 2007, Louise returned to Richmond as an Assistant Director. She then rejoined the DfE as an Academy Adviser, establishing new academies as well as leading research for the Academies Group and working intensively with the most fragile academies. In 2012, Louise was invited to rejoin Ofsted as a director. During this time, she was the Regional Director for the East Midlands and the National Director for local authorities. Since leaving Ofsted, Louise has been an adviser to the DfE and a number of academy trusts.

Peter Howard Associate Principal

Starting as a GTP student, Peter has taught in a total of 10 schools over the last 20 years, ranging from small village schools to larger town schools. He has had a variety of roles culminating in working as Assistant Principal at Eastgate Academy, where he was part of the team that took the school from special measures to outstanding. Eastgate Academy were only the sixth school in the country to make such progress in one Ofsted round and the only school to do it with the same SLT. Peter now works with the Trust as Associate Principal, focussing on Trust schools in Thetford.
