Determination and focus to give pupils a rich curriculum and range of new experiences to enjoy school life were one of the highlights of the recent Ofsted inspection report for Upwell Academy, which was graded Good overall.
Ofsted has published its report on the inspection of Upwell Academy on 23rd & 24th November 2021 with all areas inspected achieving the Good grading.
Paul Shanks, Chief Executive of the Eastern Multi-Academy Trust, of which Upwell Academy is part of, said: “We are delighted that Ofsted has recognised the progress made at Upwell and thrilled for the recognition of all of the hard work that staff have put in during extremely challenging times.”
“The inspectors noted a number of strengths, particularly around the leadership of the school, their high expectations and their ambitious curriculum. Inspectors said Pupils are happy, they enjoy coming to school, they care about
each other and are well cared for by staff.”
“The report acknowledges the significant strengths that the academy has and identifies the areas for further development.”
Principal of Upwell Academy, Haidee Norman, said; “It is a privilege to work with such wonderful staff and families, and the report is testament to the support and care provided by all during the pandemic. We are proud to have created an environment where children thrive, are happy and can be themselves.”
Upwell Academy transferred to Eastern Multi-Academy Trust in 2017 and this was its first inspection since transfer.
