Kevin Blakey
Kevin Blakey has a background in education and became a Member of the Eastern Multi-Academy Trust in June 2025. He has been a Headteacher of four secondary schools and is currently Director of Education for Unity Schools Partnership, a role he previously held at Eastern Multi-Academy Trust. Kevin joined us as a Member to support the continued development of the pupils that our Trust serves and to contribute to the wider educational system.

James Rowney

James Rowney has been working in Information Technology (IT) for over 30 years, covering almost all areas from engineering through administration, deployment and implementation to system, application and architecture design.  James is an Enterprise,  Application and Infrastructure Solution Architect, and has been a Technology Consultant with his own company for over 20 years.  At present his core focus is on Security, Identity and Access Management - areas that affect everyone in the modern highly-connected world. He works with a wide range of customers including government, commercial, banking, and retail both within the UK and Europe.  James was a Trustee of the Eastern Multi-Academy Trust between December 2017 and December 2025, at which point he stepped down from the Board and took up his position as a Member.

 

 

 
Derek Stringer
Derek has been a Member of the Trust since its inception.  He stood down as Chair of the Board in September 2020. Previously business sector director at Mars Inc, Derek set up his own management consultancy firm in 1996 working with multinational clients such as Unilever West Africa, Nestlé Malasia and Diageo Western Europe. Derek has two daughters and one son all of whom were educated in local schools. Both his daughters are teachers; his son has pursued a commercial career in fast-moving consumer goods, thereby following in his father’s footsteps.

 
John Williamson
Wing Commander John Williamson MSc, BSc (Hons) RAF is a commissioned officer in the Royal Air Force with over 20 years’ experience. He has served numerous operational, procurement and staff tours in the UK and abroad. His last post was establishing and commanding a front-line Wing responsible for delivering direct support to operations across the world.
